Fund investment company Sinian Intelligent Driving has obtained the road testing license for intelligent connected vehicles

Recently, the Ningbo Municipal Transportation Bureau, Ningbo Public Security Bureau, Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau, and Ningbo Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau jointly issued a notice on the "Ningbo Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Test and Demonstration Application Management Implementation Rules (Trial)" and established the Ningbo Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Test and Demonstration Application Management Joint Working Group (hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Working Group") to accelerate the research, development, and application of intelligent connected vehicle technology in Ningbo, and to support intelligent connected vehicle companies in carrying out large-scale testing operations and commercial exploration.

Sinian Intelligent Driving, a company invested in by the BOTON Fund, and two other companies have obtained the first batch of intelligent connected vehicle road test notices in Ningbo. The Ningbo Public Security Bureau will issue temporary licenses for the autonomous driving vehicles of the aforementioned three companies, which will be allowed to carry out road testing, demonstration applications, and demonstration operations for carrying people and goods in several specified areas. This follows Tianjin as the second time Siyear Intelligent Driving has obtained an autonomous driving road test license.

Ningbo is a key area for Siyear Intelligent Driving to carry out autonomous driving business. The unmanned transportation project at the Beilun Port Dashiqiao Terminal in Ningbo is the first and also the largest scale paid operation order after the establishment of Siyear Intelligent Driving. Since completing nearly a thousand entry tests and entering the Dashiqiao Terminal in June 2020, it has maintained a record of continuous operation for 48 months with 0 safety incidents, which is a classic case of large-scale unmanned transportation in the industry.

As the only port autonomous driving company to obtain the first batch of road test licenses in Ningbo, Siyear Intelligent Driving will take on the mission of a pioneer in the field, strengthen the exploration of the connection between unmanned transportation capabilities in closed and semi-open environments, and use road test data and experience to feed back to existing operating vehicles, further improving the passing ability in mixed traffic environments.

Global autonomous driving has entered a key period of commercial landing. Europe, the United States, Japan, and other places have promoted the mass production of autonomous driving vehicles through driving certification, exemption, and other methods, providing policy support for the legal and compliant "road" of autonomous driving vehicles. In recent years, China has introduced a large number of policies to support the development and commercial application of autonomous driving. At the end of last year, according to the deployment of four departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, "unmanned driving" vehicles in future pilot areas can apply for official motor vehicle licenses locally.

"In the next stage, the Joint Working Group will focus on the implementation of scenarios, accelerate the improvement of intelligent connected vehicle support policies and standard systems, plan more application scenarios, explore new models of industry operation and supervision, and strive to create an 'Ningbo model' of intelligent connected vehicles with Ningbo characteristics," said a person in charge of the Ningbo Municipal Transportation Bureau.
